Collection name: Oral History Collection; Subjects: Oral History: The majority relates to people who have lived at, worked at or visited English Heritage properties across the country. A small group (65) derives from community outreach projects; items: 333 Audio CD-R. "Collection name: Brodsworth Hall; Subjects: Oral History: A few oral history recordings (21) were carried out in the early 1990s soon after English Heritage took on Brodsworth Hall. These were mainly with with former members of the Hall and estate's workforce and local residents. This collection was augmented in the early 2000s, and now includes 97 recordings. A recent project has involved making 18 new recordings relating to the experiences of Brodsworth's community (mainly from those who were children at the time) during the Second World War. Recordings continue to be made on an occasional basis with people with memories or experiences relevant to Brodsworth Hall. Brodsworth's collections also include about 100 gramophone records formerly owned by the Thellusson and Grant-Dalton families dating from c 1900 to the 1950s; items: 68 Shellac Disc, Lacquer Disc,30 Vinyl Disc, 97 Audio CD-R, All are now on CD, but some of the earliest ones have been transferred from their original media, which influences the sound quality. The first 21 interviews, done by Ken Howarth in the 1990s were on DAT, and then the next large group were on MiniDisk, and only the most recent have been straight to digital files. We catalogue the SD cards, and CDs made from them. 44.1khz, 16 bit sampling rate. A selection of 15 tracks were recorded digitally from a range of the original records for a project in 2009. "
