There are a small number of speech and sound recordings (last tram in Leeds 1959, Last wash at Armley wash-house 1982, speech by Mrs Pankhurst, BBC tribute to Herbert Bardgett, medical advice, personal voice records (1930s) and a record made by the University of Leeds of the Malham pipe (a prehistoric bone flute). There is also a growing collection of contemporary oral history, some of which is not yet catalogued; items: 180 cylinder, 910 Shellac Disc, 1 Lacquer Disc,37 Vinyl Disc, 4 Open Reel Tape, 1 Compact Cassette, 20 published CD, 6 Digital Audio Files, We do have quite a large collection of mechanical music (pianola rolls, polyphon discs, roller organ rolls etc.)
