Holdings: 

Founded in the 1930s, RTÉ’s Sound Library and Archive contain some 2 million commercial music tracks on formats ranging from shellac discs to digital files, as well as c. 160,000 hours of original audio, on analogue carriers such as 1/4 inch tape (c. 70,000 objects), acetate discs (c.4,400) and audiocassette (c. 25,000); and digital formats such as DAT (c. 25,000), CD (c. 20,000) and portable hard drive and server. RTÉ-produced audio covers genres such as music, drama, documentaries and news.
