BISA 2015 London - Call For Contributions

Submitted by Simon Rooks on March 31, 2015 - 11:03am

BISA is inviting proposals for papers and presentations for the programme on Friday 5th June at BBC Broadcasting House.

Please send an outline of your proposal and any questions to Simon Rooks (simon.rooks@bbc.co.uk) and cc jonathan.draper@norfolk.gov.uk by  Friday, 24th April 2015.

Papers should be up to 30 minutes duration, including time for questions, and can be on any theme relevant to sound archives and archiving including:

  • collection policy and practice
  • selection and disposal
  • access, publication, distribution and user services
  • fundraising and grant application
  • partnerships and collaborations
  • metadata, documentation and cataloguing
  • preservation, digitisation and technology
  • copyright, ethical and ownership issues
  • professional theory and practice

Naturally, we strongly encourage the use of audio and a/v in presentations. We have even been known to accommodate live music performances based on archival research as part of presentations as well!
