Getting to Aberystwyth and the conference venue

Travelling by Train
Aberystwyth train station is located in the centre of the town, a 15-minute walk to the Library or a short journey by taxi (located outside). Train services to Aberystwyth arrive from Shrewsbury every two hours. For more information, contact Traveline Cymru.
Travelling by Bus
The Bus Station is located next to the train station. There are various local connections and connections to Birmingham and London. For further information, visit Traveline Cymru.
Travelling by Car
Travelling from the North
On the A487 from Machynlleth, come down Penglais Hill passing the Arts Centre and the new University campus on your left. The National Library of Wales is on the left hand side immediately after Pantycelyn Hall of Residence. The Library is at the end of a 400 metre drive, overlooking Aberystwyth.
Travelling from Mid Wales
Along the A44 from Llangurig you will come to a small roundabout in Llanbadarn, take the first exit left. You will then come to another small roundabout, take the second exit towards Aberystwyth along the residential road, Llanbadarn Rd, passing Plascrug Leisure Centre on your left. At the end of Llanbadarn Rd at the junction with the Coopers Arms, turn right up Penglais Hill. After passing the entrance to Bronglais Hospital, turn right at the post box. The Library is at the end of a 400 metre drive overlooking Aberystwyth.
Travelling from the South
Along the A487 from Aberaeron you will come to a roundabout in Penparcau. Take the second exit to come down Pen y Bont Hill. At the bottom of the hill you will approach another roundabout next to the retail developments at Parc y Llyn. Take the fourth exit, signposted Llanbadarn Fawr. Before entering the village of Llanbadarn Fawr, turn left along Llanbadarn Rd, passing Plascrug Leisure Centre on your left. At the end of Llanbadarn Rd at the junction with the Coopers Arms, turn right up Penglais Hill. After passing the entrance to Bronglais Hospital, turn right at the post box. The Library is at the end of a 400 metre drive overlooking Aberystwyth.
Parking
Visitors and readers to The National Library of Wales will be charged a small fee for parking (Monday - Friday only).
£1 (up to 4 hours)
£2 (over 4 hours - full day until (18:15)
Drivers with a valid disable badge are exempt from paying.
Parking receipts can be used as payment towards one purchase in the Library at Caffi Pen Dinas, the Shop or the Library's photocopying services on the day of parking only. Money will not be refunded against parking receipts.
Please note the National Library of Wales is on a hill a 15-minute walk from the town centre. The taxi rank and Bus station are located next to the train station.
