The Lancashire Sound Collections, covering the local authorities of Lancashire, Blackburn with Darwen and Blackpool were transferred to Lancashire Archives in June 2015 following the closure of the North West Sound Archive. Opening Times: 

Mon, Wed, Fri 9am-5pm; Tue 9am-8.30pm; Thu 10am-5pm; also open on the second Saturday of each month 10am-4pm. Closed English bank holidays and for 2 extra days at Christmas and New. See website for details

Access conditions: 

It is strongly recommended that people make contact us by email before planning a visit. Access is allowed to copies of recordings only. Where a copy is already in existence this is indicated on the online catalogue and it may be listened to in the public searchroom. Where there is no copy one will have to be created; this will take time and there is likely to be a charge. A CARN readers ticket is required for use of the collections
